Ghost - Game of Thrones - Season 8
Direwolves in the HBO series "Game of Thrones" ended miserably with only Ghost being represented in the final battle with the White Walkers and Nemeria no where to be found. How very disappointing that direwolves were not a more integral part of the story. Direwolves held the hope of the north in season 1, but the more the story went on the less important direwolves became. The author even left out what ever happened to Nemeria altogether. She never returned with ther wolf pack to never be seen again. Furthermore, Ghost's role was minimal simply killing a few walking dead. This iconic white wolf with red eyes receives no acalades or special ending. In fact, many fans were quite disappointed that Jon Snow did not even acknowledge his loyal companion on the last episode. The director explained to the Huffington Post "Since the direwolves are kind of CG creations, we felt it best to keep it as simple as possible." When the New York Times asked Nutter if it was a "CGI issue" that restricted the pat we all wanted to see, Nutter responded, "Very much so." With all of the money spent to produce such an epic fantasy series, one of the most beloved creatures in the Game of Thrones series leaves without any fanfare or even much appreciation.
